Lovely time out at Chatsworth

July 28th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Life

We popped out to Chatsworth yesterday afternoon. Beautiful weather, great music, and our friends were alright too!

It was great to be outside, enjoying the rare sunshine. We’d decided to go as our friend Helen was playing music in the gardens. Really enjoyed the classical music, lounging on the grass, relaxing in such beautiful settings.

Our friends Lizzie and Jon and their boy William joined us which was great. Not seen them for a while. Had a fab ice cream too. They were getting through truck loads of the stuff with the gorgeous weather.

Here’s a couple of pics:

Nice long weekend ahead

I love bank holiday weekends. I think a four day week and a three day weekend would make for a great work-life balance.

This weekend some good friends of mine from university days will be coming over to Sheffield. They’re staying at the Hilton and we’ll be hanging out with them, their two year old boy, and six week old baby girl. Should be fun!

We’re going to go for a picnic out at Chatsworth house and gardens tomorrow. It is so beautiful out there and such a relaxing environment. (We’ll see if that’s still the case doing it with the two young-ens!)

What are you up to this weekend?

Hyper-connected - what else?

Hyper-connected

I love this drawing by Hugh Macleod. Kind of says it all.

We’re connected to more people that at any other point in history. But how many people do we actually know?

What is friendship if it is defined by Facebook? Apparently I have a TON of friends. But if they were actually friends then there is no way I could handle them all. It would be a nightmare.

So, if Facebook now defines friendship, what is someone called who is, you know, actually a friend?

And does it matter that something like friendship is being so redefined?

Lots of questions I’m pondering this morning!

What’s your take on this new, hyper-connected world?
