Human Potential - a new small business

June 30th, 2008 Posted in Life

For years now I have been fascinated by human potential. I love watching people making the most of their talents. I love seeing organisations be the best they can possibly be. Ultimately, I love seeing both people and organisations move from good to great.

It is because of this that I’m so excited about starting my own small business that will focus on human potential and helping both individuals and organisations unleash that potential.

The next six months are going to be geared to getting everything setup, incorporating the company, building the brand, and developing courses, training, and coaching material. From January 1st 2009 I will be looking for the new business to sustain me for one and a half days. And we’ll see how it goes from there.

It feels like a fresh challenge and one that I’m so looking forward to embarking on.

To the future!

    Sounds really exciting!

    Definitely an expanding market too.

    I’ve been taking a 12-week coaching course - it’s been incredibly powerful.

All the best for the venture. Make sure you approach people like SENTA / Business link for funding too, they seem to be almost throwing it away!

Thanks for stopping by, Joseph. And yeah, I’m definitely planning of being in touch with SENTA, Bus Link, etc.

What was your 12 week course?

How did you find my blog just out of interest?

I follow you on Twitter :-)

I’m doing a twelve week ‘101′ course with TSI - Total Success Institute.

Based in the US. Weekly phone calls at 7pm their time, midnight in Sheffield! 6 in a group. There’s more detailed info on what we do in my 10th June post in my blog.

Initially I was pretty sceptical, but it’s been very good.

I blogged about why I decided to start the course here: http://tinyurl.com/4j3csq

I’ve been recommending this company to quite a few people. The founder, Cliff Stockamp is very perceptive - my initial hour-long trial call with him was pretty powerful. A friend of mine found the same and last week decided to invest in 6 months of 1-on-1 coaching with him, something I will probably do when I can afford it.

Anyway, all the best, see you on Twitter.

Mmmmmmmmmm…. interesting the TSI stuff looks very similar to life coaching. A colleague of mine was going through a programme of it and I volunteered to be the guinea pig, the most valued things for me and most people i spoke to was time set saide that didn’t allow you to do things but reflect, mabe that’s why were called Human beings and not Human Doings

  5. Joseph Tame Says:

    Yes, it is life coaching.

One of the things I find valuable is that it’s all about doing, and getting tangible results on a weekly basis. It’s helped me shift out of my comfort zone and get a job in japan, raise several thousand pounds of funding for several upcoming projects and get back into an exercise routine. For me, just being accountable helps a great deal.

  6. Simon Says:

I see what your saying Joseph but not all tangible results are yours to control. Doing before thinking and reflecting only leads to problems unless your very fortunate. I did a seminar with Prof D Wilkinson who studies Decision making processes and he had access to the tapes that recorded the discussion on which the decision to go to war in Iraq was made, all i can say is scary that such a big decision can be made in 5 minutes.

  7. Joseph Tame Says:

I take your point too Simon. I guess for me the issue has always been too much thinking and reflecting and not enough doing :-)

I think is the age old issue of striking a balance, not easy but then thats were trusted friends come in to play for me. The people who can say it like it is! point it out and know you won’t swing for them lol!!
